Hi, can a horizontal scrollbar be added to CloneApp 2.11.444? Some of the log messages are wider than the allowed space and there is no way to see the end of the line. What I do as a workaround is right click > Copy All > paste into text editor + word wrap. Unfortunately end lines are copied to the clipboard so word wrap is necessary, or I have to manually insert end lines at the correct place - tedious. All would be far simpler with a scrollbar. Otherwise wonderful new utility. Thanks Belim. Maybe a more full blown forum page would be helpful too instead of just a list of every topic ever.
Excellent !!! Simply Excellent. Thanks For Cleanmgr+. It will definitely be my new go to application. I hope plugins with be added in the future for other major applications. It's good enough in my opinion to replace CCleaner on my system. 5 Stars all the way. I will be spreading the word about Cleanmgr+ .
I have run some more test and it looks like now the program is NOT deleting the files in the download folder. I did not change any of the settings from the previous version. After have the problem, I deleted all the files from the Cleanmgr+ directory and started from scratch. Might be something to look at.
I just noticed that if you close Cleanmgr+ and launch it again that the +more items are remembered. That makes the situation better. So, apparently, once you run the "Check installed scripts" under the +, the ones that are found are remembered unless/until you run the "Check installed scripts" again. That is good.
Initially, how to get the +more items to have the "space to gain" calculated is still not intuitive. That is still a hurdle I think you need to address.
Maybe the option under the + should say:
"Check which +more scripts are installed"
"Check which +more scripts your Windows account is using"
See my message below for other thoughts.
Thank you for the message. I was able to get Cleanmgr+ to calculate the "space to gain" for those +more items. ;-)
As you know, this probably isn't intuitive or easy to figure out. What you have currently works, but I wouldn't necessarily expect most users to figure out how to have Cleanmgr+ calculate the "space to gain" for the +more items.
For the items under the Disk Cleanup tab, the "space to gain" is calculated automatically if you click on the ____ link after gain >. So, it makes sense that if you go to the +more tab and click the ____ link after gain >, then Cleanmgr+ would calculate the "space to gain" for the +more items.
Also, if "space to gain" has been calculated for the Disk Cleanup tab or the +more items already while Cleanmgr+ is open, then it would be nice if those results were remembered despite switching between the Disk Cleanup tab and the +more tab. Currently, I can calculate "space to gain" for the Disk Cleanup tab and then for the +more items, but then if I go back to the Disk Cleanup tab, the "space to gain" results are gone and I have to calculate them again.
Some users might leave Cleanmgr+ open for an hour or two or even longer. In those cases, perhaps the "space to gain" results should be re-calculated. However, it would be nice if the results were remembered for each tab for at least for a few minutes or until the ____ link after gain > is clicked again. If you update Cleanmgr+ so that the +more items can also be calculated manually using the ____ link after gain >, then it would be no big deal for a user to re-calcuate "space to gain" for the Disk Cleanup or +more items if they wanted to. But, the user might prefer the results to be remembered if/when switching between tabs.
Thank you for all of your work and effort on Cleanmgr+. ;-)
I want to say that you do a great job with your
softwares and if you are interested I have updated the french
localization for the latest version of CloneApp.
the string "mnuLocalizationImport=" in Hamburger menu didn't work with
any localization (German locale too) but only in english so is it
possible to correct this bug !
Is it possible too in a next release to support Unicode UTF-8 for some french lettering and other locales !
Thank you !
Thank you for helping me to realize that Gain amount was a link to click. I had not noticed that.
I do think it would be better if the amount of storage space for each item was listed next to the item. For example:
[ ] Windows Update Cleanup (1.13 GB)
[ ] Temporary Internet Files (111.3 MB)
[ ] Thumbnails (342.1 MB)
Or maybe it is best to list the number of files too:
[ ] Windows Update Cleanup (653 files, 1.13 GB)
[ ] Temporary Internet Files (191 files, 111.3 MB)
[ ] Thumbnails (40 files, 342.1 MB)
The Preview window works okay, but I don't think it as easy for the user because you do have to look for each item in the Preview or go back to the left side (listing with checkboxes) and check the items you decide to "cleanup". This is an inconvenience for me because I usually use the storage amount estimate to aid in deciding what I am going to cleanup. It doesn't really matter if I am going to clean certain items without concern for the storage space amount that will be gained. I hope that makes sense.
Currently, there are missing items in the Preview. Notice in my screenshot that Previous Windows Installation(s), DNS Cache, Print Queue, and other items are not listed in the Preview window. Everything on the left side (with checkboxes) should be listed in the Preview. If you cannot calculate the amount of storage space to be freed/gained, then you should say "Preview was skipped for performance reasons" or something.
Another problem with this current implementation is the Preview does not show any "Gain" estimate for "+ more" items (Google Chrome Cache, Microsoft Edge Cache, etc.) It would be good to know how much storage space these items are using and one might then decide to go ahead and "cleanup" some of these.
Thank you very much for all of your work and time on Cleanmgr+. Please do not let my constructive criticism discourage you. I simply want Cleanmgr+ to be the best for me and everyone else and I want to use it. I will gladly donate some money as well, especially once the program is a bit more polished.
Have a great remaining weekend.
A few days ago I saw a post about Cleanmgr+ 0.4.0 and I have been checking out the releases since. I have seen improvements. Thank you, Belim!
There is one BIG missing feature/aspect to me compared to Microsoft Disk Cleanup (Cleanmgr) and that is the lack of an estimate of the storage space that each item (that could be cleaned) is using and, therefore, the storage space that would be freed up if an item was selected and cleaned.
When I use Microsoft Disk Cleanup, I look at #1 how much storage space each item is using and #2 what each item is to decide on which items I am going to select and have cleaned. See the example picture below.
With Cleanmgr+ currently, I have no idea how much storage space each item is currently using and which ones I really want to focus on. I need and want that information to decide which items I want to clean, or at least which ones are more important to me.
Just found your program and might donate. I realize how much work this is and was curious about a few things that I can't find. How would I add a program say Photoshop Elements? How can one search in the forums? I clicked on both search icons but never got to the input spot for item to search for? Thanks for this great program.
I stumbled across this excellent program, and decided to give it a try, since I was moving to a new computer. Most of the bundled plugins worked like a charm. Being a software developer I use a lot of not-so-mainstream software that are not currently supported by CloneApp, so I wrote a bunch of plugins for them. What is the process of getting these new plugins integrated in the main distribution of CloneApp?
Please check "Windows Mediaplayer.plg".
The registry entries are saved without errors, but for the backup of the database and the playlists you need in my opinion and tests the following command line (for Windows 10):
